Kenny "Jo-Jo" Smith

Educator, and Basketball Coach Kenny Smith will join us! Kenny Smith obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from a historically Black College, Miles College in 2005 while playing 4 seasons of basketball. During 2006 and 2007 he played basketball professionally in the International Basketball League (IBL). Stops include the Middle East and South America (07). In 2008 he was hired as a Bully Prevention Specialist within Akron Public Schools while also substitute teaching. Two years later Kenny finished his Masters in Special Education with a behavior support concentration and began working with the severe behavioral (E.D.) population where he is still fulfilling his passion. In 2010, he started a non profit organization called Ladies First Akron Inc. Ladies First focuses on helping young ladies in the inner city gain confidence, and self-esteem by using academics and athletics as a tool to reach their potential. Kenny currently resides in Akron with his wife Candace and 2 daughters Kamille and Kamryn. Tune in tonight to learn more about Kenny!
